Hiiiiii. I just got back from my 2D1N trip to Batam. It was a short & sweet getaway. Any longer would've been kinda unnecessary cos there wasn't really much to do. Basically, we did a lot of shopping, eating & sleeping! It was kinda like a crash course into travelling by ourselves cos we're pretty new at it. & hopefully we'll be able to travel further. We're young & we gotta travel before we get old! But of course $$ comes first. I can only hope that I have the discipline to save. *fingerscrossed*

*WARNING* (Ignore if you're not interested in reading about my experience with a HORRIBLE travel agency)
I'm going to side-track & tell you about this really screwed-up company that we've had the misfortune to liaise with. So we had gotten this deal through some website online. Strangely, after making the payment we never received any vouchers or e-mail confirmation. We then called the office like a gazillion times, but no one seemed to be picking up the phone.
(29Oct) We then went to the office to sort things out. & there was this really rude Chinese lady in her mid-thirties at the counter. She didn't bother figuring out what went wrong with our booking & all she said was we'll call you back. O.O Yeah, we made our way down there only to be told, "We'll call you back." So Atikah talked to this other guy, (who I assume has a higher position) & told him to check through our booking. He then told us that only one of our bookings went through & that we'd have to do another one for the other pair. So what he told us was,
"Your second booking is not captured, so you can go ahead to make the booking again. After that you can just send us an email & we'll tag them together for you by Monday."
We did as we were told & still no reply on Monday. We then sent them an email & called the office countless times with no reply on both sides. We've already planned on going on the 11th& had already applied for leave. So just imagine our aggravation.
(9Nov) So, no surprise we went down to the travel agency again to sort it out. Now what they informed us was,
"You have actually made a double booking. So both of your reservations are under the same names. Okay, no worries. We can amend that for you, just go ahead & fill up this form so that we can change the booking details for you."
So I filled up all the details on the form excluding my passport expiry cos I didn't have that information. I then told them that I'd update them when I had it.
"Okay, you can give me a call on my handphone to inform us your passport expiry date. I'll then email you a confirmation of the vouchers."
Convenient for me right? NOT. I got home like 20 mins after I left the office & called/texted her but to no avail. I even tried the office. Was I surprised? Nah, not really. Was I mad? Hell yes.
(10Nov) I went down to the office the very next day. I have no idea why, but I didn't seem to be angry. I just wanted to get it over & done with. I really wanted everything to be settled so that we could all go for that trip we've been waiting for. When I arrived, they told me that their boss is out to meet the technical guys to get it fixed. They then told me to fill up the form, yet again & that they will email me the confirmation by 630pm(It was only 4 plus at that time). Again, they seemed like they just wanted to brush me off. After everything, I just had a bad feeling about it so I just decided to hang around til it was time so I could get the confirmation. I'd like to add that I was alone, roaming Little India for close to 2 hours. When I got back they said, "Oh, the guy is not back yet." It was already 0630pm. Then she asked the other guy for the form that I'd filled up. That just goes to show that nothing has been done the whole time. They started looking for the form & finally got to get it done for me. Just what the bloody hell have they been doing, knowing that my trip was the very next day?! Geez. After waiting for about 15 minutes, they FINALLY handed me the vouchers. My goodness, I guess they needed my supervision/presence/watching eye to get things done. All in all, that company is simply a joke.
In conclusion, I'd like to thank the company for the job well done & excellent service. (NOT) Wake up and get yourself together or just don't bother running a company, alright. No way in hell am I ever gonna have anything to do with such a lame excuse of a company like yours.
& even when we got there half of the tickets were open tickets which meant that it wasn't confirmed, making it a hassle for us again. Gee, thanks. _l_ Okay, I'm done ranting.
